i missed two daily posts this weekend, and i still have to finish my supporting cast character sketches so i can move forward with the remaining scenes of chapter two and then the full chapter three draft. and essentially i’ll have to be writing it in bed every night because i don’t have any other time available to me (unless i sneak in some writing over the lunch break and from my desk during lulls at work).
this weekend was a bit of a blur, one of those slow and steady but always active stretches of days that seem to move at just the right pace but somehow still too quickly. saturday was meal prep and cleaning day, sunday was the engagement shoot with our friends raisa & shereif, and monday we went on a morning movie date to see alita, which despite all of the gaping plot holes was a great movie. if anything it was a great inspiration for me as i move into this week of writing the baseline chapters for my own future sci fi epic. then i did a little work, and of course we hit the gym hard this weekend every day. the rest of the night was doing some last-minute cleaning and having our weekly steak dinner. after we looked through the pictures from sunday’s photo shoot, we called it a night. i feel totally rested and ready for this week ahead, and i am sure i’m my bones that this week will represent a turning point in my fiction writing. in the same way that my photography business is growing beyond what i could’ve hoped for, i can sense that this other creative outlet will blossom from the seeds, soil and water that are intermingled in the here and now.
let’s do this.
